International Cooperation
KFEM strives to create a world in which both nature and human rights are respected. KFEM’s visions for life, peace, ecology, and bottom-up participation are, in part, the product of international environmental cooperation embodied by the 1992 Rio Conference, in which over 50 Koreans from various NGOs participated.
Since the KFEM received its Special Consultative Status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council in May 1998, we have attempted to implement the UN agenda across Korean society and continue to play a major role in promoting its universal values.
KFEM has fostered a strong background at the World Summit on Sustainable Development, collaborating with global environmental groups to help protect national natural resources and ecosystems. As active observers of the Green Climate Fund, we attend conferences to monitor international leaders and guide them to use funds more efficiently.
